Malaysia closed new applications on the old one-for-one meter. The 2026 workplace path is ATAP.

NEM’s quota window ended 30 June 2025. Solar ATAP started 1 January 2026. A 2024 slide is the wrong document in a commercial meeting.

Last year’s tram ticket does not ride this year’s tram. That is the scene when someone opens a NEM deck in a 2026 factory meeting.

SEDA — the agency that runs the consumer solar programmes — says Solar ATAP is the continuation after NEM. The Energy Commission published the ATAP guideline for Peninsular Malaysia from 1 January 2026. New applicants are not joining the old one-for-one meter story.

Good: the new rule is on a public page.

Bad: leftover noon for a business is credited at Average SMP, the bulk rate. That is not a one-for-one wipe of the bill you pay at 3pm.

Ugly: an existing NEM contract does not jump by itself. The guideline lets a NEM customer move only if they end the old contract first. We will not tell you to tear up paper. That is a lawyer and a TNB conversation.

Bring the 2026 guideline. Leave the 2024 slide in the bag.
