The Malaysian home rebate tops out at RM3,000. It does not pay for a factory roof.

SuRIA Home is a government cashback for eligible home customers of TNB — Malaysia’s main power company — on the workplace solar rule known as Solar ATAP. A factory is a different conversation.

Someone will walk into a commercial meeting with “the rebate is RM3,000”. They are reading a household flyer. That is the scene.

The official FAQ is clear. Eligible home customers who install and switch on a Solar ATAP system by 31 December 2026 can claim a cash rebate. The published figure is RM600 per kilowatt of inverter capacity, capped at RM3,000. The inverter is the box that turns roof power into building power — think of it as the tap, not the tank. The kilowatt is the size of that tap.

Good: the home number is published. You can check it.

Bad: those figures belong in a terrace-house conversation. They do not size a factory roof. They do not fund a warehouse battery.

Ugly: a buyer who designs a warehouse around a RM3,000 cashback is using the wrong programme. A workplace still has a path — use your own sun, take the bulk-rate credit on leftovers, and ask a tax adviser about the separate green tax window. Not a house cash drop.

Use the household number as a fact. Then put it down.
